ABOUT ME

Emily

The woman behind

Becoming Bargains.

Hello fellow thrifters, bargain shoppers, and all others who love a good deal! My name is Emily and I am a dog loving, chocolate craving, accessory wearing 25-year-old college student that loves a good bargain whether it is clothing, furniture, or home goods! I attend college in central Pennsylvania and am dual majoring in American Sign Language and Communication Studies. As a full time college student, funds can become quite sparse at times. With that being said, I am a 25-year-old woman who loves to keep up with the latest trends or create new ones and find a diamond in the ruff. So to ‘feed’ that addiction, I bargain shop! Revamping your closet or finding that perfect platter for a do-it-yourself and/or Pinterest project is possible with some creativity and time! Take my word for it!

Some of you may be asking yourselves, "Wait, she’s 25 and still attending college?" Yes, I took a four year break in between my freshman and sophomore year of college. It took some time to figure out what I wanted to do with this life of mine. What was a simple decision for me? Bargain shopping! I am saving money, I am revamping my closet, and I am able to complete that latest project I pinned last week! Score! My wallet is fuller, my closet is growing at an eighth of the price, and my house is looking quite homey.

When people complimented me on a $7.00 outfit and the project that I completed for under $30.00, I knew I had to share my tips and tricks with you! Saving money is necessary in today’s economy so let’s look great and DIY-away for a fraction of the cost! You could even sell those projects and earn a profit! Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

I love sharing this passion of mine and hope you read on to discover how an outfit and a project can come together that is not only inexpensive, but stylish and CENTsational too (see what I did there?).

ABOUT BECOMING BARGAINS

As you can probably sense in the title, Becoming Bargains is about purchasing inexpensive items that are chic and tasteful, whether it be clothes, shoes, or home goods. These items can be from thrift stores, clearance racks, discount retail chains (i.e. Marshalls, Label Shopper, etc.), Walmart, yard sales, or even hand-me-downs from your mother’s or sister’s closet.
